KATHMANDU: Kantipur Media Group (KMG) Chair Kailash Sirohiya has been remanded in custody for three days by a court order.

The District Court of Dhanusha granted permission to detain him for three days following his arrest on charges of forging citizenship documents.

The District Government Attorney’s Office had requested a five-day detention, but Judge Chudaman Khadka’s bench authorized a three-day detention period.

Sirohiya was taken into custody by the Dhanusha District Police Office yesterday.

He was arrested from his office on the grounds that his citizenship number matched that of another individual, as per the District Administration Office’s records.

Following his arrest, Sirohiya was transported via BP Highway, through Dhulikhel and Sindhuli, and brought to Janakpur early Wednesday morning.
