Mahalaxmi Bank distributes late Laxman Babu Shrestha Memorial Scholarship

KATHMANDU: Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank celebrates its 30th anniversary by awarding the late Mr. Laxman Babu Shrestha Memorial Scholarship to Mr. Santosh Kumar Mandal, a student studying in Class Ten at Shree Nandi Secondary School, Naxal, Kathmandu.

Various financial institutions have collectively formed Mahalaxmi Development Bank, an important establishment in the banking sector. In the memory of the late Mr. Laxman Babu Shrestha, the founding chairman of Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank, the Shrestha family has established the Laxman Babu Shrestha Memorial Scholarship. Directed by Mr. Rajesh Babu Shrestha, the son of the late Mr. Laxman Babu Shrestha and Director of Manakamana Darshan Pvt. Ltd., the school’s authorities and bank management have facilitated the transfer of student Santosh Kumar Mandal.

The bank has provided a scholarship equivalent to fifty thousand rupees with the objective of supporting students in their studies despite excellent academic performance but weak family financial situations.

During the event, Mr. Rajesh Babu Shrestha expressed thoughts on opportunities available in Nepal and emphasized the contribution that locally produced human resources can make to the country by staying and working within Nepal.

Furthermore, the bank’s top executives mentioned plans to streamline scholarship programs in the future and expand their contribution to the education sector.
