KATHMANDU: Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Padam Giri has clarified that the government has no intention of pushing the opposition parties aside.

He stated that any issue, regardless of its significance, should be presented in parliament, and the government is committed to advancing discussions even amid opposition objections.

His statement came during Tuesday’s session at the Federal Parliament building in New Baneshwor.

Giri denied allegations that the government intends to intimidate or coerce any opposition party.

He emphasized that the government is transparent and open to fulfilling its responsibilities, including those mandated by parliament.

Giri also highlighted the consensus-building efforts within parliamentary committees, expressing confidence that agreement will be reached within two to three days on matters pertaining to committee directives.

Furthermore, Giri, who also serves as the coordinator of the cooperative parliamentary committee formed to draft directives, assured continuous discussions with the main opposition party, Congress, to facilitate consensus. He dismissed claims of delaying consensus on the committee’s directive formulation
