Eight held for stealing offerings at Pashupatinath (name list inside)

KATHMANDU: Eight individuals, including seven employees of the Pashupati Area Development Trust, have been arrested for allegedly stealing offerings during the counting process at the Pashupatinath Temple.
According to Rewati Raman Adhikari, spokesperson for the Trust, the investigation is currently ongoing. “Eight individuals, including employees of the Trust, have been arrested for theft during the offering counting process at the Pashupatinath Temple.
They were caught on CCTV cameras and have been sent to the Gaushala Police Station for further investigation,” Adhikari stated.
Among those arrested are Navara Dhodari, Deputy Subba of the Trust; Brahmin trio Navaraj Ghimire, Ram Sapkota, and Laxman Sapkota of the temple; and temple musicians Anil Pariyar, Sanish Kapali, and Kumar Damai. They have alleged that some officials from the Trust instructed them to steal the offerings, according to the spokesperson.
Additionally, an employee from the Nepal Investment Mega Bank’s collection center located within the Pashupatinath Temple premises has also been arrested, though their name has not yet been disclosed.
