KATHMANDU: CPN (Unified Socialist) MP Rajendra Pandey has said that he has given a vote of confidence to the Prime Minister as he has not decided to leave the government.

Talking to media persons after the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, MP Pandey said that he gave a vote of confidence as the Unified Socialist Party had not decided to leave the government.

He mentioned that the party would continue to hold government positions until a different decision was made.

Expressing confusion, he questioned why Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal sought a vote of confidence, stating that there was no such necessity.

Despite the Prime Minister securing the vote of confidence, he remarked that the atmosphere was soured by the opposition parties’ chants.

He opined that it would have been preferable to conduct the vote of confidence in a more tranquil environment.
