KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stated that the Nepali Congress will pay a price in the upcoming elections for obstructing parliamentary proceedings.

He made this remark while speaking to the media on Monday after securing a vote of confidence in the Federal Parliament building.

Prime Minister Dahal criticized the current activities of the Nepali Congress, suggesting that they would face consequences in future elections due to their recent actions.

During the vote of confidence in the House of Representatives on Monday, the Nepali Congress voiced strong opposition. In response, Prime Minister Dahal warned that the Congress would face significant repercussions.

He said, “The Nepali Congress will have to pay a hefty price in the upcoming elections. Today’s obstruction by the Congress is not just unprecedented in Nepal but also a record globally. If necessary, I will seek a vote of confidence 10 to 12 times.”

The Prime Minister warned that the Congress’s actions during the vote of confidence would become a blemish in history, emphasizing that their disruption would prove costly.

Despite Prime Minister Dahal’s ongoing speech and the major opposition party Nepali Congress’s continued disruption by surrounding the well and chanting slogans, the Prime Minister received a vote of confidence from 157 members of parliament.
