Home Minister Lamichhane: Congress made a mockery of democracy
Lamichhane emphasized that the government aims to address cooperative issues in a focused manner rather than being person-centric.

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has accused the Nepali Congress of making a mockery of democracy by obstructing the Prime Minister’s vote of confidence.
Speaking to journalists outside the Parliament building on Monday, Minister Lamichhane stated that the Nepali Congress’s actions hindered the constitutional process, which requires a vote of confidence in the Parliament if a party withdraws its support from the Prime Minister.
Lamichhane emphasized that the government aims to address cooperative issues in a focused manner rather than being person-centric.
He mentioned that while demands to form a parliamentary committee and take action against cooperative fraudsters are legitimate, addressing person-specific demands is not feasible.
He assured that the government is committed to working swiftly to ensure justice for the victims of cooperative scams.
Despite the main opposition’s slogans and protests for a person-focused committee, the government will approach the issue sensitively and with a problem-focused perspective.
Lamichhane also clarified that during his speech in Parliament, he did not accuse or threaten opposition leaders.
