KATHMANDU: Forest officials have issued a red alert in 36 villages in Madhya Pradesh, India, following a fatal tiger attack.
A red alert has been issued in 36 villages of the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
The incident occurred in the eastern part of Raisen forest division, where the half-eaten body of a 62-year-old man was discovered.
Officials reported that the man was attacked while collecting tendu leaves in the forest.
The frequent movement of the tiger has caused widespread panic among the villagers.
In response, three expert teams have been deployed to track and monitor the tiger’s activities.
Over 100 cameras have been installed in and around the 36 villages to aid in this effort. A
ccording to the latest census released in 2023, Madhya Pradesh is home to 785 tigers.
