Relief materials distributed to 12 fire-affected families in Duhabi & Itahari (photos)
The relief distribution event took place at the homes of the fire victims.
KATHMANDU: Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens, Bhagwati Chaudhary, along with Ministry Secretary Dinesh Bhattarai, distributed relief aid to 11 families affected by a fire in Ward No. 9 of Chatabeli, Duhabi Municipality.
The relief distribution event took place at the homes of the fire victims.
Similarly, relief materials were distributed to the family of Indra Kumar Khadka in Ramjanaki Tole, Sisouna, Ward No. 7 of Itahari Municipality, whose house was also affected by a fire.
The relief distribution was coordinated by the Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens, the Social Welfare Council, the Health Nutrition Education and Agriculture Research Development Center, the Dinesh Chaudhary Memorial Foundation, and Letter Day Saint Charities.
Each family received 25 kg of rice, 5 kg of lentils, 3 kg of salt, 2 sets of blankets, 1 stand fan, stationery items, a set of kitchen utensils, a bundle of zinc sheets, a dignity kit, a mosquito net, kitchen materials, and a hygiene set.
Additionally, Minister Chaudhary visited the home of fire victim Indra Kumar Khadka in Ramjanaki Tole, Ward No. 7, Itahari Municipality, and distributed relief materials.
Khadka’s family received 12 cement pillars, 10 bags of cement, and 3 tractor-loads of sand/gravel as part of the assistance.
Ward member Deepak Ghimire managed the relief efforts.
The fire, caused by an electrical short circuit on May 3, resulted in damages worth approximately 1.1 million Nepalese rupees to Khadka’s home.
