Janamat Party to give vote of confidence to PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: The Janamat Party has decided to support Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ in the vote of confidence. Party chief whip Anita Devi Sah confirmed the decision.

Prime Minister Dahal will face the vote of confidence today in the House of Representatives, as required by Article 100, Clause 2 of Nepal’s Constitution.

This is necessary within 30 days if the Prime Minister’s party splits or a coalition partner withdraws support.

This vote follows the withdrawal of the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, led by former Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Upendra Yadav, from the government.
