Chicken diseases do not spread to humans, clarifies Nepal Veterinary Association
The NVA urged the public not to believe such negative and false information.
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Veterinary Association (NVA) has clarified that there is no truth to the rumors suggesting that diseases affecting broiler chickens can also infect humans.
In a joint statement issued by NVA Chair Dr. Ramkrishna Khatri and General Secretary Dr. Kedar Subedi, it was explicitly stated that the claims circulating on social media about broiler chicken diseases being transmissible to humans are unfounded.
The statement highlighted that some individuals are creating public panic by posting misleading information on social media without any scientific basis or evidence.
“There is no disease that can be transmitted to humans from consuming broiler chicken meat, contrary to the rumors circulating in the market,” the statement affirmed.
The NVA urged the public not to believe such negative and false information.
The association also called for an immediate halt to the spread of misleading and unscientific information on social media and demanded immediate action against those disseminating false information.
