Bafal fire incident: death toll rises to 4
The fire, which broke out on May 5 in a tin-roofed shed in Lalitpur Metropolitan City-17, Bafal, severely injured Giri, leading to his death during treatment.
KATHMANDU: Sanjay Giri, who was injured in a fire in Bafal, Lalitpur, has passed away.
The fire, which broke out on May 5 in a tin-roofed shed in Lalitpur Metropolitan City-17, Bafal, severely injured Giri, leading to his death during treatment.
Five members of his family were also injured in the fire.
According to Superintendent of Police Naresh Raj Subedi of the Lalitpur District Police Range, Giri died while receiving treatment at KIST Hospital on Saturday.
Sanjay was being treated on a ventilator.
His death brings the total number of fatalities to four.
His wife, Rupa, had also passed away during treatment on May 13, and their two daughters, 8-year-old Alisha and 4-year-old Priya, succumbed to their injuries on May 6.
Their nephew, Nit Giri, sustained minor injuries and is also being treated at KIST Hospital, as informed by SP Subedi.
The fire was caused by lighting a lighter while pouring mobil.
