The Prime Minister intends to convene discussions with the senior leaders of the Congress following persistent disruptions in parliament, where the Congress has been calling for an inquiry committee to investigate issues related to cooperatives.

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is set to engage in discussions with the primary opposition party, Nepali Congress.
The Prime Minister intends to convene discussions with the senior leaders of the Congress following persistent disruptions in parliament, where the Congress has been calling for an inquiry committee to investigate issues related to cooperatives.
MP Dhanraj Gurung disclosed that a meeting at Baluwatar has been scheduled for the evening to facilitate these discussions.
The Congress has been pressing for a parliamentary inquiry committee to probe Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s alleged involvement in a cooperative fraud case, leading to ongoing obstruction in parliament proceedings.
In response to escalating tensions between Congress and UML parliamentarians during a Thursday session, the Prime Minister has taken the initiative to address the situation.
Furthermore, a gathering of various opposition parties, including the primary opposition Congress, has voiced support for the Congress’s call to establish a parliamentary inquiry committee.
Additionally, the opposition parties have raised concerns regarding the perceived lack of impartiality from the speaker during parliamentary proceedings.
