Mother held for killing son
Aarati allegedly killed her son by strangling him on the morning of 12 August 2023, while no one else was at home.
KATHMANDU: A 22-year-old woman, Aarti Kumari, residing in Alau, Ward No. 17 of Birgunj Metropolitan City, has been arrested on charges of murdering her 5-month-old son and absconding.
Aarati allegedly killed her son by strangling him on the morning of 12 August 2023, while no one else was at home.
Following the crime, she fled to Ekdarwa Tole in Singhpur Haraiyagram, Raxaul Post, East Champaran, India.
Acting on a tip-off that Aarati was currently in Birgunj, a police team from the District Police Office, Parsa, apprehended her from Ward No. 13 of Birgunj Metropolitan City.
The District Court of Parsa had issued an arrest warrant against Aarati on Nov 5, 2023, in connection with the murder case.
The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
