KATHMANDU: After the main opposition party, Nepali Congress, continued to obstruct parliamentary sessions, Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has become visibly agitated.

Following the failure to reach consensus among parties to form parliamentary committees, the Congress has remained adamant in its stance.

A meeting scheduled for 11 a.m. this morning was postponed with the intention to gather consensus for convening a session at 4 p.m. However, Minister Lamichhane expressed his displeasure as the Congress opted for obstruction.

He wrote on Facebook: Let me speak once, that’s all I asked for. Why such a disgusting media trial?

The situation reflects ongoing political tensions within Nepal, with parties at odds over procedural matters, leading to disruptions in parliamentary proceedings.
