Home Minister Lamichhane conducts inspection of TIA
Minister Lamichhane emphasized the importance of enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the arrival and departure halls.
KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane visited Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Thursday morning to conduct an inspection of various sections of the facility.
During his visit, Minister Lamichhane inspected the departure and arrival halls, boarding counters, immigration counters, the sterilized area, immigration and police offices, customs clearance, and luggage management sections.
Airport security officials, the head of the airport immigration office, and the chief of the civil aviation office briefed Minister Lamichhane on their respective departments’ responsibilities, staffing, operational procedures, and challenges.
Minister Lamichhane emphasized the importance of enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the arrival and departure halls.
He also stressed the need to upgrade the airport to be highly technology-friendly and stated that efforts would be directed towards this improvement.
