HoR to convene amidst uncertainty due to ongoing Nepali Congress obstruction
The Parliament Secretariat has released the potential agenda for the meeting.
KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives, the lower house of the Federal Parliament, is scheduled to convene today at 11 a.m.
The Parliament Secretariat has released the potential agenda for the meeting.
However, it remains uncertain whether the session will proceed as planned.
The main opposition party, the Nepali Congress, has been obstructing parliamentary sessions.
The Nepali Congress accuses Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane of being involved in misappropriation and fraud in cooperative savings schemes.
They have been demanding the formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate these allegations against the Home Minister.
The Nepali Congress has stated that they will not allow the House to function until their demand is met.
As a result, despite the government’s policies and programs being presented, they have not been tabled in the House.
Similarly, a vote of thanks to the President has also not been presented.
