APF seize truck concealing sugar, maize, & wheat flour in Sunsari
The total value of the seized items including sugar, maize, wheat, and the truck, has been estimated at Rs 4,525,860.
KATHMANDU: The Armed Police Force on May 11 seized a truck with registration number BR 50 G 9057 at the border area of Koshi Rural Municipality-8 in Sunsari district.
The truck, carrying 29,750 kilograms of sugar along with maize and wheat flour concealed as rice and wheat, was intercepted based on specific intelligence.
Upon inspection by the security personnel from the Haripur Border Security Gulm, it was found that the stated sugar was actually hidden among the maize and wheat flour.
Additionally, 18 sacks of maize weighing 990 kilograms, and 95 sacks of wheat weighing 5,279 kilograms were also confiscated.
The total value of the seized items including sugar, maize, wheat, and the truck, has been estimated at Rs 4,525,860.
The seized goods and the truck have been handed over to the Sunsari-based Setubindhu Customs Office for further legal proceedings.
