Tokha Municipality demolishes illegal structures

KATHMANDU: Tokha Municipality has initiated the dismantling of structures constructed along the Bishnumati Corridor to reclaim public land.

Under this initiative, the municipality has relocated the Community Service Center and the Community Police Service Center buildings to the New Bus Park situated in Ward No. 9 of Tokha.

Sher Bahadur Bishwakarma, the chief administrative officer of Tokha Municipality, has provided information regarding the removal of structures constructed by encroaching upon public land within Tokha.

The Community Service Center building has been relocated to the New Bus Park as part of the ongoing process to remove structures along the Bishnumati Corridor.

The municipality has also begun the process of demolishing shops constructed near the New Bus Park in proximity to the Bishnumati Corridor.

As per the municipality’s announcement, 82 shops constructed near the bridge adjacent to the New Bus Park are set to be dismantled.

Previously, Tokha Municipality had undertaken the task of opening the corridor by removing structures constructed from Manorth Tirtha to the Grande Hospital along the banks of Bishnumati.
