KATHMANDU: The hearing in the case of cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has started in Patan High Court.

On Tuesday, the hearing of the case was started after the lawyers of both sides debated throughout the day.

The judge has set a time for both sides to pronounce the verdict today.

As there is an appeal from both sides in the court, the lawyers of both sides get to argue.

Following the rebuttal, the ultimate verdict rests with the presiding judges on the bench of the High Court, comprising Sudarshan Raj Bhatta and Anju Upreti Dhakal.

The outcome of this case holds immense significance for Sandeep, akin to a pivotal crossroads. Should his innocence be established, the path to his swift reinstatement in cricket opens, potentially unlocking the door to participation in the forthcoming T20 World Cup.

Conversely, should the verdict sway against him, Sandeep’s career hangs precariously in the balance, fraught with jeopardy and uncertainty.
