KATHMANDU: The case of cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane is being heard at the Patan High Court.

The case, which is being presided over by a joint bench of Judges Sudarshan Dev Bhatta and Anju Upreti Dhakal, was placed under consideration on Tuesday after the hearing could not be concluded.

On that day, senior advocates Ramnarayan Bidari, Shambhu Thapa, Raman Shrestha, Murari Sapkota, and Krishna Sapkota argued on behalf of Sandeep.

A legal professional indicated that the arguments would continue today, and the court is expected to deliver its verdict.

In the rape case, the Kathmandu District Court had found Sandeep guilty on Jan 10 (Poush 25) and sentenced him to eight years in prison.

Sandeep filed an appeal at the Patan High Court in March (Falgun).

Additionally, the government attorney’s office has also appealed, contesting the sentence as too lenient. Both appeals are being heard simultaneously.
