Battisputali murder: All 4 identified as minors
According to initial investigations conducted by the district police, the minors were detained in connection with the incident.
KATHMANDU: Four arrested on a charge of murdering a youth in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-9, Battisputali, have been apprehended.
All four arrested are said to be minors.
The arrest comes following the death of 24-year-old Shambhu Dhimal of Morang during a clash between two groups.
According to initial investigations conducted by the district police, the minors were detained in connection with the incident.
Kathmandu District Police spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent Navaraj Adhikari confirmed the information.
He stated, ‘The clash between two groups resulted in the death of one individual, and the four minors detained in connection with the incident have not been publicly identified. Further investigation is underway to confirm details.’
It was reported that Dhimal was fatally stabbed during the altercation, and he was rushed to Kathmandu Medical College in Sinamangal for treatment, where medical personnel declared him dead.
According to the police, the altercation began late at night on the street when Dhimal and another arrested individual engaged in a physical confrontation.
It has also been revealed that another individual, 23-year-old Manish Chaudhary, Dhimal’s friend, was injured during the incident.
The body of the deceased Dhimal has been kept at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, for examination, as stated by the spokesperson.
