Art & sculpture exhibition commences in Kathmandu (photos)

KATHMANDU: The exhibition of paintings and sculptures has commenced in Kathmandu.
Under the auspices of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s educational program, an art exhibition has begun at the Nepal Lalitkala Pragya Pratisthan located in Naxal, Kathmandu.
The exhibition features various artworks and sculptures.
The event was inaugurated on Friday in a ceremony organized through the collaboration of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the Pragya Pratisthan, with Mr. Narad Mani Hada, the Chancellor of the Pragya Pratisthan, presiding over the opening.
Providing information about the exhibition, Devendra Kumar Kafla, the Secretary of the Pragya Pratisthan, highlighted its purpose of integrating art with education under the Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s initiative.
He stated that the Kathmandu Metropolitan City organized this exhibition as part of the Skills in Education program’s sketching and scripture training.
Every Friday for the next 15 weeks, the Nepal Lalitkala Pragya Pratishthan, in collaboration with the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, carried out this program in 19 groups of nine schools.
In addition, an exhibition of student paintings and sculptures was held as part of the program.

Furthermore, the Metropolitan City has collaborated with the Nepal Lalitkala Pragya Pratisthan to execute this program, where we, in partnership, have cooperated with teachers and other professionals in the field of art. In addition, this year, the Nepal Lalitkala Pragya Pratisthan collaborated with nine community schools within the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. In total, 570 students from 19 groups participated in this endeavor.
Approximately 1,100 paintings and sculptures have been exhibited, and the exhibition will continue for three days starting from the 28th of this month.
The art show, which includes nine schools from Kathmandu Metropolitan City, features over 1100 paintings and sculptures.
The show, which will span three days, is expected to serve a vital role in linking education and skills.
