KATHMANDU: The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has demanded immediate relief measures from the government for the victims of fire and wildfire.

In a meeting held on Friday, the parliamentary party expressed condolences to those who lost their lives in various parts of the country due to fire and wildfire, urging the government to provide necessary relief.

Ramesh Lekhak, the party’s chief secretary, stated that the party has requested the government to ensure immediate relief for those affected by fire and wildfire.

The meeting also highlighted the scarcity of drinking water in various parts of the country due to the damage caused by fire and wildfire, urging the government to address this issue promptly.

Additionally, the Congress party expressed wishes for the speedy recovery of leader Prakashman Singh, central member Ambika Basnet, and former minister Sheshnath Adhikari’s health.

The Congress party also expressed deep sorrow over the demise of party leader Surya Man Gurung, passing a condolence motion in his memory.
