KATHMANDU: The parliamentary party of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal, led by Upendra Yadav, is convening a meeting.

The meeting, scheduled to be held at the party’s office in Balkumari, will reportedly discuss contemporary issues.

The party has recently experienced a division. After a majority of members sided with Ashok Rai’s leadership while he was abroad, resulting in the split of the party, Chair and Deputy Prime Minister as well as Health Minister Upendra Yadav returned from his tour and resumed his duties.

The meeting is also expected to address the legitimacy of the split within the party.

Following the official recognition of Ashok Rai’s leadership by the Election Commission, JSP Nepal has expressed dissatisfaction.

Preparations are underway within the party to seek legal recourse against the Commission’s decision.

With the party’s registration currently inactive, there are concerns about how the Election Commission registered Rai’s leadership, prompting Yadav’s faction to contemplate legal action against JSP.

This matter will also be further discussed in today’s meeting.
