EC registers JSP led by Ashok Rai

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has registered the Janata Samajwadi Party under the leadership of Ashok Rai.

On Sunday, leaders along with seven lawmakers of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) went to the EC and submitted signatures of majority members under the leadership of Rai.

According to the commission, the registration of the said party has been done in compliance with the provisions of the Political Parties Act 2073, Political Parties Regulations 2074, and prevailing federal laws.

“The decision has been made to register the political party named Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) in the registration book of the commission as per Article 33 of the Political Parties Act and Rule 5 of the Regulations,” stated a commission source.

The commission has decided to send details of this registration to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, all provincial and district election offices, and also to JSP Nepal under the leadership of Upendra Yadav.
