Parshuram Basnet reinstated in Sports Board
Basnet, who was appointed as the secretary of the Sports Board on 10 October, 2021, was dismissed by former Chief Minister Bhim Acharya.
KATHMANDU: CPN-UML leader Parshuram Basnet, who was dismissed as the member secretary of the Koshi State Sports Board, has been reinstated as the member secretary of the Sports Board.
Following a swift decision by the former Cabinet, he was dismissed from his position, but now, two years later, he has been reinstated as the secretary of the Sports Board.
Basnet, who was appointed as the secretary of the Sports Board on 10 October, 2021, was dismissed by former Chief Minister Bhim Acharya.
The decision was made by the cabinet led by Rajendra Rai on 4 April, 2022.
After his dismissal, Basnet had filed a writ at the Biratnagar High Court against the decision of the Cabinet.
According to the registrar of the High Court, Mamata Khanal, and Justice Keshav Prasad Bastola’s bench, Basnet will be reinstated.
As per the decision, Basnet, who was appointed as the secretary of the Sports Board for four years on 10 October, 2021, will be able to resume his duties for the remaining period, informed Basnet’s legal advisor, businessman Ramesh Koirala.
