Fugitive Karuna Shahi in banking fraud arrested

KATHMANDU: Karuna Shahi, who was on the run in a banking scam, has been apprehended by the police.
Karuna Shahi, a resident of Kohalpur Municipality-11, was arrested by the district police office Kohalpur Banke.
She was arrested by a police team from Baniyabhar, Bardiya.
DSP Dharma Bhandari of the local police station has confirmed that investigations are ongoing and information related to banking documents is being examined.
Some time ago, her husband Arjun Bahadur Khand Thakuri, who was also on the run in connection with a banking fraud, was also arrested.
He was apprehended by the police team from Satdobato, Lalitpur, on Feb 10 and was brought to the Kohalpur area police office in Banke.
Subsequently, on Feb 27, the District Court in Banke released him on bail.
Currently, his case is under consideration in the court.
