Nepal & Qatar hold bilateral discussions

KATHMANDU: Talks have commenced between the bilateral delegation headed by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.
The discussions, held at the Hotel Soaltee in the capital, are at a high level and ongoing.
Representing Nepal are Prime Minister Dahal, Deputy Prime Ministers Raghubi Mahaseth and Narayan Kaji Shrestha, along with Finance Minister Barsaman Pun, Communications Minister Rekha Sharma, Labor Minister DP Aryal, and other officials.
Likewise, the Qatari delegation includes high-ranking officials accompanying Emir Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has indicated that the talks will encompass various aspects of Nepal-Qatar relations, as well as regional and international affairs.
Following the discussions, both parties are expected to witness the signing of bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding.
Prime Minister Dahal will also host a luncheon in honor of Emir Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.
The Qatari Emir, who arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday afternoon at the invitation of President Ram Chandra Paudel, is scheduled to depart later this afternoon.
