KATHMANDU: Surya Jyoti Life Insurance, marking its 16th anniversary with joy and enthusiasm, celebrated the completion of its first-year post-merger across all branches nationwide by cutting a cake.

Having scripted history by initiating the first-ever merger among life insurance companies, Surya Jyoti Life Insurance commemorated its milestone achievement on the occasion.

With a remarkable legacy of 15 years, Surya Life Insurance, now merged and rebranded as Surya Jyoti Life Insurance, commenced its joint operations on December 22, 2022 (2079 Poush 7).

Throughout its short tenure, it has diligently provided notable services, establishing itself as a robust entity in the industry.

In an occasion, Chief Executive Officer Prakash Bikram Khatri expressed heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders for their continuous support and unwavering commitment over the past 16 years, ensuring the company’s sustained success.

He extended appreciation to loyal customers, steadfast shareholders, dedicated employees, eminent mentors, and regulatory bodies for their relentless guidance and support. Khatri pledged to continue providing quality services and reaffirmed the commitment to excellence in the days ahead.

On the same occasion, Chairman Keshav Prasad Bhattarai expressed gratitude towards all stakeholders, emphasizing their trust and commitment towards the company.

He extended his appreciation to regulatory bodies for their constant guidance and direction, ensuring the company’s adherence to regulations and standards.

The company has been providing the latest technology-friendly and excellent services on time and has been providing financial security for treatment expenses up to Rs. 5 million against most 35 critical diseases.

Suryajyoti Life Insurance Company, the only and first ISO 9001:2015 awarded in Nepal, currently has a paid-up capital of Rs. 4.54 billion, life insurance fund of Rs. 32 billion, total investment of Rs. 37.5 billion and net worth of Rs.7.56 billion.

Operating through 178 branches, the company has issued 2.8 million insurance policies and currently employs 96 thousand trained agents.

In a meeting held by the Board of Directors on April 2, the company proposed to distribute a 10.26% bonus share and a cash dividend of 24.74% for the fiscal year 2079/80, totaling a 35% dividend distribution.
