KATHMANDU: Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s visit to Nepal has been meticulously organized and secured to ensure success.

He is arriving today for a two-day official visit to Nepal upon the friendly invitation of President Ram Chandra Poudel.

In the context of his visit, various security measures have been implemented under the coordination of the Nepali Army’s high-ranking officials, including Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and National Investigation Department.

Nepali Army has been actively managing security arrangements, from the special welcome reception to the departure of the Qatari Emir, at various venues and events as per the requirements and preparations made based on the specific program.

The government has issued the Specific Person Peace and Security Management Directive 2077 for the security management of specific individuals.

Assistant Spokesperson of the Nepali Army Gaurav Kumar Keshi informed about the intensified security measures for the specific individual’s safety.

With regards to the security of the Qatari Emir, all flights scheduled to and from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) will be halted for 15 minutes before and after his arrival and departure, as informed by Jagnnath Niraula, Chief of TIA.

The visit of the Qatari Emir from today onwards is believed to further elevate the relationship between the two countries.

This high-level visit to Nepal from the Middle East Asia is of significant importance, enhancing bilateral ties. Qatar holds importance in Nepal’s foreign labor destinations.
