Polish national assists school in Mygdi
John Wolanski of Poland provided Rs 14.5 million to the local Kaphaldanda Basic School for constructing two classroom blocks.
MYAGDI: A Polish national has assisted about Rs 15 million for the construction of school building at Annapurna Rural Municipality -8 in the district.
John Wolanski of Poland provided Rs 14.5 million to the local Kaphaldanda Basic School for constructing two classroom blocks.
School principal Buddhi Purja said that Wolanski provided the financial support at the coordination of Gir Bahadur Garbuja, who was born at Dharapani of Myagdi and currently living in the UK.
Garbuja has been working at a private company in the UK after his retirement from the Gurkha regiment in the British Army.
Purja said one school block has five rooms and the next one six rooms. The school principal Purja said the school has honoured Wolanski and Garbuja for their contribution.
Wolanski said he is extremely happy that his contribution has directly benefited the students of a remote village and expressed his desire to continue such support in future as well. Wolanski and Garbuja had also assisted the school by providing equipment required for conducting tele-teaching.
The school which runs classes up to Grade 8 has 43 students.
