Hasina Khan sworn in as member of HoR

KATHMANDU: Hasina Khan, representing the Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal, has been sworn in as a member of the House of Representatives, taking the oath of office and secrecy.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire administered the oath to Khan at Singha Durbar on Friday, marking her official entry into the House of Representatives.

Following the passing of Manju Sharma Ansari, the Janata Samajwadi Party nominated 27-year-old Khan to fill the vacant position.

Previously, Shehnaz Rahman, also from the Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal, was appointed to the post following the demise of Shahnaz Rahman on the 13th of Falgun, 2079 (25 Feb, 2023).

With Khan’s appointment following the passing of Ansari on the 4th of Chait (March 14), Speaker Ghimire formally inducted her into the House of Representatives and presented her with the emblem of the House.
