Sindhupalchowk wedding bus accident: victims identified, accident details revealed

KATHMANDU: The identities of the three individuals who lost their lives in the Sindhupalchowk wedding bus accident have been disclosed.
The deceased have been identified as 18-year-old Shiva Shrestha, 70-year-old Man Bahadur Thami, and 19-year-old Dipendra Thami, all residents of Dolakha Bhimeshwar Municipality-1.
DSP Niranjan Bhattarai, spokesperson of the District Police Office in Sindhupalchowk, reported that 7 individuals sustained moderate injuries, while 45 others sustained minor injuries.
The accident involving a bus from Tripurasundari Rural Municipality-5, carrying attendees of a wedding, occurred at 7:20 am on Friday.
The bus, with registration number Ba 4 Kha 5616, was en route to Piskar when the accident occurred at Dharawati.
Angela Thami, one of the injured passengers, recounted that the bus departed from Dolakha at 3:30 am with wedding attendees heading to the wedding of local resident Shusil Thami from Bhimeshwar-1.
According to her, the accident was caused by a washed-out road, leading the bus to plunge 100 meters below in Tripurasundari-5, Dharawati.
