ACF Nepal for children film Nepal announces 1st Nepal Int’l Children Film Festival
On the occasion of International Children's Day, Nov 20th, the festival will be held in Kathmandu from November 20 to 29.
KATHMANDU: Alliance For Children Film Nepal (ACF Nepal), established in 2013 with the aim to promote ‘Films for Children’, announces the 1st Nepal International Children Film Festival.
On the occasion of International Children’s Day, Nov 20th, the festival will be held in Kathmandu from Nov 20 to 29.
With the motto, TOGETHER WITH PARENTS, Nepal International Children Film Festival has been announced after releasing the Festival Logo by the Actor Dayahang Rai, Pashupati Rai and Child Actor Prasan Rai. Child Actor Prasan Rai is one of the main actor of the upcoming movie ‘Gau Aaeko Baato (Road To A Village), by Nabin Subba.
1ST Children Film Festival in Nepal with a 10-day program especially targeted to Children from age 3 to 18, and also targeted to the Teachers and the Parents.
National and international children’s films will be screened at the festival. In addition, there will be a film competition and workshop for young filmmakers under the age of 18 at the festival.
At the festival, children’s films and their impact on children and society will be discussed with stakeholders. As well as art and book exhibitions, children will be included as Juries.
Established in 2069 BS (2013 AD), Alliance for Children’s Film Nepal (ACF Nepal) aims to develop an environment of film for children by involving them in the films OF THE CHILDREN, made FOR THE CHILDREN, and also engage them in the films BY THE CHILDREN, where they can be the future of Nepali Cinema.
Also, they are also the future audience, therefore, it is very necessary to develop film literacy, especially for the Nepali audience. Therefore, the main goal of ACF Nepal is to develop Film Literacy from the childhood level.
Film is the medium, the combination of different arts that will engage the children with the culture, society and education. It can help Children in developing their perspective, analytical skills, creative thinking, and learning values.
In addition, ACF Nepal has announced that it will organize a ‘School to School Film Festival’ along with this festival. Similarly, ACF Nepal, Nepal’s first organization related to children’s films, conducts regular children’s film exhibitions and discussion programs in schools, young film making workshops, and conducts cinema clubs in schools.
Also, ACF plans to promote discussion and interaction with parents, teachers and stakeholders regarding the importance of movies in education.
