Road accident in Pakistan’s Punjab: 2 dead, more than 50 injured
The highway patrol police reported that a bus veered off the road and plunged into a pothole in the Sar Kalan area near Kallar Kahar on Sunday afternoon.
KATHMANDU: According to the highway police, two individuals lost their lives and over 50 others sustained injuries in a tragic road accident in the Chakwal district of the East Punjab province in Pakistan.
The highway patrol police reported that a bus veered off the road and plunged into a pothole in the Sar Kalan area near Kallar Kahar on Sunday afternoon.
Upon receiving the distress call, police and rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene and transported the deceased and injured to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Authorities have expressed concern that the death toll may escalate as five of the injured individuals are in critical condition.
Police investigations indicate that the accident was caused by the driver’s inability to maintain control of the vehicle at high speed, leading to its descent into a deep ditch at the roadside.
