KATHMANDU: Nepal’s pioneer adventure company, High Ground Adventures Nepal, is set to introduce the country’s first-ever sunrise bungee jump in the tourist capital of Pokhara.

The thrill of bungee jumping, accompanied by the mist of water, will be an exciting experience for adventurers.

With an additional investment of approximately 5 million Nepali Rupees, the company plans to enhance the thrill factor and provide a unique taste to their patrons. This initiative has been conceptualized by Dinesh Maharjan, the Managing Director of High Ground Adventures Nepal.

According to Maharjan, the inauguration of the sunrise bungee jump is scheduled for April 10, with the presence of representatives from the tourism industry, journalists, and officials from government bodies such as the Nepal Tourism Board.

“We are excited to be launching the world’s second and Nepal’s first-ever sunrise bungee jump,” expresses Maharjan, adding, “With a total package of NPR 6,500, including photos, videos, and t-shirts, enthusiasts can now book their bungee experience. The package also includes certificates and round-trip transportation from Lakeside to Hemja.”

“The sunrise bungee jump is a unique product worldwide,” says Dharmaraj Panthi, President of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal, Gandaki Province, “It will not only enhance the craze for the tourist capital but also boost tourism in Pokhara.”

High Ground Adventures initiated bungee jumping in collaboration with the European adventure company ‘Bungee Latvija’ on Nov 17, 2014.

“Bungee itself is an exceptional adventure. Moreover, with the introduction of sunrise bungee jumping, we believe it will further enhance the adventure experience and contribute to the tourism development in Pokhara by attracting both domestic and international tourists,” states Sagar Shrestha, Head of the Pokhara Regional Office of Nepal Tourism Board.

It is also the first tower bungee in Nepal built on the model of a cantilever bridge. In this, ‘Tandem Bungee’, where a couple hugs each other and bungees, has also been started by Higroud in Nepal, which has now become a center of attraction among the youth.

Sharad Golcha, Bharat Golcha, Abhinav Churiwal and Dinesh Maharjan have invested in the company.

The company introduced zipline for the first time in Nepal on June 2, 2012. The zipline from top of Sarangkot in Pokhara, which is famous for sunrise and sunset, reaching Hemza’s gorge is a franchise zipline of the American adventure company ‘ZipFlyer UAS’.

The world’s steepest and fastest and the second longest zipline in the world, Superman Zipline has also been started 2 years ago.

The company has constructed the first-ever Giant Swing at the Hemja Station in Nepal. Standing at a towering height of 262 feet above the ground, the swing features a 98-foot tower. Participants are harnessed onto the swing ropes, providing an exhilarating experience. The swing allows individuals to ride solo, as a pair, or even as a trio, offering a unique adventure.

For the past two years, the company has also been offering ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) services in Pokhara. Visitors can enjoy thrilling rides in the desert safari of Dubai-inspired bikes and off-road adventures in the Pame region. This ATV is also known as the Quad Bike.
