Eight including seven Nepalese killed in accident in Nainital
After 10 PM on Monday night, a jeep carrying Nepali workers veered off a cliff, plunging nearly 200 meters and causing a serious accident.
KATHMANDU: Eight people, including seven Nepalis, died in a jeep accident at Betalghat of Nainital district in India. On Monday night, the jeep carrying the Nepali workers met with an accident.
Seven Nepalese citizens and the driver died on the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Vish Ram (50), Dheeraj (45), Anant Ram Chaudhary (40), Vinod Chaudhary (38), Uday Ram Chaudhary (55), Tilak Ram Chaudhary (45) and Gopal (60), according to Indian media.
Similarly, Shanti Chaudhary, wife of Dhiraj Chaudhary, and Janak Chaudhary were injured in the incident.
Based on the documents found with them, the seven Nepalese were from Babai of the then Bheri zone, according to the police post.
A local driver along with seven Nepalese lost their lives in the accident.
All the bodies have been kept at Nainital Government Hospital.

The accident took place when a rented vehicle fell some 150 meters off the road while loading goods in course of coming to Tanakpur.
They had been working there to lay pipelines along roadside around the incident site and were returning home when the accident occurred.
Indian police have rescued both the deceased and injured individuals.
