The arrests were made on Sunday and the individuals were handed to the Immigration Department for further investigation.
The arrest of the 10 Bangladeshi citizens was prompted by intelligence suggesting that they had entered Nepal at various times and remained in the country unlawfully, engaging in questionable activities despite their expired visas.
According to Rabindra Regmi, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Kathmandu Metropolitan Crime Division, a special police team apprehended the individuals from the Swayambhu and Thamel areas of Kathmandu for their unlawful stay in the country.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohammad Anishur Rahman, Mohammad Abdullah, Mohammad Imaul Hasan, Mohammad Hafizur Rahman, Sajib Hassan, Saiful Islam, Mohammad Vilal Hasan, Mohammad Salim, Mohammad Nasir Uddin, and Mohammad Asin Khan.
DSP Regmi stated that necessary investigations and legal actions will be taken against them, and they have been sent to the Kalikasthan-based Immigration Department for further processing.
In recent times, the police have increased surveillance due to incidents of bringing Bangladeshi nationals to Nepal under the pretext of sending them to Europe and then making them hostages.
