Truck carrying petroleum exploration equipment overturns on road

KATHMANDU: A truck carrying petroleum exploration equipment has met with an accident.
According to the Chief District Officer of Dailekh, Khimraj Bhushal, information has been provided regarding a truck accident while transporting equipment for exploration in Dullu Municipality-3, Pali, Dailekh.
The incident involved Indian truck with registration number Ma Pa 03001 Kha 7817, which was intended to transport equipment for exploration at the project site in Bairawil, Jaljale, situated in Bhairabi Rural Municipality from Nepalgunj.
“The truck overturned on the road due to loose gravel left on the road by a road widening company. Two cranes were used to lift the truck,” said Chief District Officer Bhushal.
In the first phase of the petroleum exploration project conducted with funding from the Chinese government, 22 cargo trucks have been dispatched to the exploration site.
The project, initiated in coordination between Nepal and China in Chaitra 2072 BS, was approved in Magh 2075 BS, and preliminary surveys began in 2076 BS.
Currently, preparations for drilling are underway after acquiring 45 ropanis of land in Jaljale.
