Three, including singer Rajesh Payal, arrested after a drunken brawl

KATHMANDU: Three artists, including renowned singer Rajesh Payal Rai, found themselves in legal trouble as they were apprehended by law enforcement officials near Madan Bhandari College in Kathmandu late last night.

The incident unfolded around 2 AM in the early hours.

According to reports, the arrests came about after locals alerted the police, citing disturbances caused by the individuals, allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

Sources suggest that the noise created by the group prompted residents to reach out to law enforcement authorities, expressing concerns over the disruption to the peace of the area.

Subsequently, the police reached at the scene and engaged with the individuals, urging them to cease their activities and maintain order.

However, failing to comply with the instructions, the trio was taken into custody by the authorities.

Following their apprehension, the three artists were taken to the Baneshwor Police Circle Complex, where they are currently being held as the investigation unfolds.

The police officer informed that they are being handed to the family today. There is no reason to file a lawsuit. An official said, “We will hand them over to their family after remanding them.”

The incident has garnered attention and sparked discussions among the public, with many expressing surprise and disappointment over the involvement of well-known figures in such an incident.
