Five-day mediation training begins in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Mediation Council and the Advocates’ Society Nepal have jointly initiated a five-day training program on mediation in Kathmandu.

During the program, Justice Pokhrel emphasized the importance of such training in fulfilling the need for skilled manpower engaged in mediation-related work in Nepal.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad Adhikari, the president of the council, highlighted the various procedures adopted in mediation, which would be informative for both the proponents and opponents. He stressed that mediation contributes not only to resolving disputes but also to the production of quality human resources.

In attendance were prominent figures such as Hari Shankar Niraula, Chair of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Shantiram Khatiwada, Chair of the High Court Bar Association, Chudamani Poudel, Coordinator of the Special Court Bar Association, Ram Shrestha, Chair of the Lalitpur Bar Association, and Arjun Prasad Dhakal, Chair of the Advocates’ Society Nepal, who also expressed their views on the significance and necessity of mediation training.

The training, which will run for five days, has the participation of 42 individuals from various districts of the country. Various experts from different fields will provide training on various aspects of mediation during the program.
