KATHMANDU: Rama Ale Magar, who was appointed as a non-departmental minister of the Bagmati state government, has taken the oath of office and secrecy.

On Tuesday morning, CPN Unified Samajwadi Party MP Ale Magar was officially sworn in as a non-departmental minister by State chief Yadav Chandra Sharma.

This appointment follows Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel’s decision to appoint Magar as a minister on Monday.

Magar’s appointment holds significance as she is the sole woman MP to secure a direct election victory from the United Samajwadi Party.

Notably, Rama of Chandragiri Municipality also clinched a direct election win from Kathmandu Region No. 10 (B).

However, discussions arose during Monday’s confidence vote for Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel regarding MP Ale Magar’s absence from the state assembly meeting until late. Speculations emerged suggesting that Magar’s absence might have led to negotiation confusion regarding her ministerial role.
