Renowned filmmaker and journalist, DB Rawat, announced plans to launch a Nepali-style Dohori restaurant in Austin, Texas.
Rawat, who has been residing in Austin for a long time, revealed that after conducting extensive market research, he decided to venture into opening the Dohori restaurant.
According to Rawat, there is a significant demand within the Nepali community in Austin for a Nepali restaurant offering authentic Dohori cuisine.
Rawat emphasized that the Kathmandu dohori sanjh will cater to various Nepali cultural events such as weddings, religious ceremonies, and birthdays, providing party services at affordable rates. He highlighted the lack of suitable venues for Nepali gatherings in Austin and expressed his aim to fill this gap by offering party services for events like weddings, religious ceremonies, and birthdays at the Dohori sanjh.
Rawat also mentioned that preparations are underway to assemble a skilled team for managing the lok dohori. He encouraged aspiring artists interested in performing Dohori songs and playing musical instruments like madal, bansuri, harmonium, and octopad to get in touch.
The Nepali community in Austin has eagerly awaited the opening of a lok dohori restaurant, as it will provide them with a taste of home and an opportunity to celebrate cultural events in traditional style.
