Five dead as taxi plunges into Trishuli River

KATHMANDU: Five persons died after a taxi fell in Trishuli River this morning.
Two men, two women and a baby girl died in the fatal accident.

According to the police, there may be 6 passengers in the taxi, but it is not certain.
The accident occurred at 7:15 this morning near Simaldhara area of Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-5 along the Prithvi Highway.
Police shared that the taxi (Ba 2 Ja 4196) heading to Gorkha from Kathmandu fell some 80 metres off the road in the river.
According to the Muglin police, the taxi met with an accident one kilometer before reaching Muglin.
They were returning to Gorkha after attending the cremation of relatives in Kathmandu.
Details of the accident are awaited.
