Weather: Continued light rain until Saturday, improvement from Sunday
Additionally, there is a possibility of light snowfall at specific locations in the high hills and mountainous regions of the country.
KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division, Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, predicts that the ongoing light rainfall observed in various parts of the country will persist until Saturday.
Following this, there will be a gradual improvement in the weather starting from Sunday, as the influence of the westerly wind decreases.
According to Raju Pradhananga, a meteorologist at the Department, the pre-monsoon conditions are particularly active in the eastern regions of Nepal due to the convergence of local winds, the presence of a low-pressure system near Nepal, and the moisture-laden winds originating from the Bay of Bengal.
“Presently, the weather across the nation is characterized by partly to mostly cloudy conditions. Rainfall is occurring in certain hilly areas within Bagmati and Gandaki States.
However, we anticipate an improvement in weather conditions starting from Sunday,” stated Pradhananga.
The Division further elaborated that there is a likelihood of light rain or occurrences of thunder and lightning in select areas of the hilly regions in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim States, as well as some parts of the Terai.
Additionally, there is a possibility of light snowfall at specific locations in the high hills and mountainous regions of the country.
