KATHMANDU: Air flights in the country have been generally affected due to adverse weather conditions.

Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) reports significant disruptions in both domestic and international flights due to poor visibility caused by adverse weather conditions.

Airport spokesperson Subash Jha confirmed that several international flights were affected, with Air China’s flight being diverted and others placed on hold in the sky. Currently, Sichuan Airlines’ aircraft remains on hold.

Visibility at the airport has been severely impacted by the inclement weather. Although visibility was only 1,600 meters an hour ago, it has now improved to 2,500 meters. Jha noted that international flights on hold have begun to land.

Similarly, Pokhara International Airport is experiencing a suspension of domestic flights.

However, regular flights continue in the Terai region airports. At TIA, 30 airlines, including three Nepalese carriers, operate international flights, while domestically, 20 air service providers, including 12 helicopter companies, offer flight services.

Shree’s aircraft from Dhangadhi landed at Bhairahawa

Meanwhile, Shree Airlines flight which flew from Dhangadhi to Kathmandu early in the morning has landed at Bhairahawa after not being able to land in Kathmandu.

It landed at Bhairahawa about two and a half hours after flying from Dhangadhi to Kathmandu.

The plane took off at 7:12 this morning. After not being able to land in Kathmandu, it landed at Bhairahawa around 9:30 am. 77 passengers, including two children, were on board the 80-seat ship.

While landing in Kathmandu, after the weather deteriorated, they had to hold in the sky and land at Bhairahawa.
