KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Minister Gagan Thapa has restarted the stalled ‘Samvad Yatra’.

After the death of central member Keshav Kumar Budhathoki, the Samvad Yatra, which was postponed, has been started from where it stopped.

The second phase of Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa’s ‘Sambad Yatra’ commenced in Gaurigunj, Nawalparasi by placing garlands on BP Koirala’s statue.

Thapa initiated the journey by adorning the statue of BP Koirala with floral garlands in the village square this morning.

Thapa started the journey on Jan 27. The journey was stopped from Feb 6. This is a postal highway focused journey. Earlier, Samvad Yatra, which started from Mechi Bridge in Jhapa on Jan 27, was halted after reaching Gopiganj in Nawalparasi on Feb 5.

Nepali Congress central member Ajayawavu Sivakoti has informed that the second phase of the Samvad Yatra will be held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at various places in Nawalparasi, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Dang and Banke. Chief minister Thapa has discussed with the locals and listened to their problems during the dialogue tour. During the trip, Thapa plans to listen to the locals, inspect the development works, and reach the doorsteps of the locals rather than speaking.

The team leading the dialogue journey under Thapa’s leadership will conduct discussions up to Chandrouta, Kapilvastu’s Lumbini, the district party office, and the municipality office of Maharajgunj on the March 29.

Additionally, on the March 30 morning, the dialogue journey will commence from Govardhan in Dang, starting with the Tharu dialogue and concluding with the departure for Banke. In Banke, they will oversee the inspection of the Sikta Irrigation Project on the March 30 and engage in public dialogue in Phattepur.

Former Minister Yuvaraj Pandey, who is currently associated with the Nepali Congress, provided information on the journey, accompanied by the former Minister of State for Livestock Development, Yuvaraj Pandey, who briefed them on the community’s Congress campaign.

Under the Congress Campaign in the Community, general secretary Thapa has consistently provided continuity to this dialogue journey.
