19-year-old girl murdered in Palpa
She was a student of Grade 12 at Sharada Secondary School.
KATHMANDU: The lifeless body of a 19-year-old woman was discovered in Ribdikot Rural Municipality-1, Khyaha, on Tuesday evening.
According to local sources, the young woman, identified as Padma Khadka, daughter of Dal Bahadur and Kamala Sunar from Karandi, Kaski, had been brutally attacked with a sharp weapon, sustaining injuries to various parts of her body.
She was a student of Grade 12 at Sharada Secondary School.
The Chair of Khyaha Ward, Chiranjivi Pokharel, informed, “She had cuts on her throat and fingers. It appears that Padma tried to defend herself when she was forcibly attacked.”
She went a tab, a place near her house, to take a bath at 4 o’clock in the afternoon. However, she did not return until evening.
District Police Chief, Superintendent of Police Narendra Chand, stated that due to the incident occurring in the evening, police have ensured security at the crime scene and have initiated an investigation from this morning. “A dog squad has been brought in from Bhairahawa to aid in the investigation,” he added.
The local community has demanded swift action against the perpetrators of this heinous crime, urging for immediate apprehension and prosecution.
