KATHMANDU: In today’s second match, Nepal secured an impressive victory by 71 runs, sealing the series win.

Today’s match saw a remarkable win by 71 runs, confirming Nepal’s series win.

Setting an imposing target of 199 runs, Nepal restricted Ireland Wolves to 127 runs in just 18.3 overs, leading to an all-out.

Earlier, in the first match, Nepal had clinched victory by 6 wickets, setting the momentum for their series triumph. This was Nepal’s final home game before the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.

Nepal will now compete in the Friendship Cup in India followed by participation in the ACC Men’s Premier Cup in Oman.

In today’s game, Ireland’s opener Stephen Doheny made an aggressive start, scoring 26 runs off 13 balls before being dismissed.

Nepal’s Sompal Kami took his wicket, and in the following over, Kushal Malla caught Ross Adair off Karan KC’s delivery.

Subsequently, Ireland struggled to build partnerships, losing wickets at regular innings.

At the end of the 19th over, Nepal managed to bowl out Ireland, with Kushal Malla and Sompal Kami each taking 3 wickets.

Vivek Yadav, Kushal Bhurtel, and Karan KC contributed with 1 wicket each.

Nepal’s batting innings earlier saw them post a total of 198 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Gulshan Jha top-scored with 46 runs, while other batters contributed well, with three players scoring 25 runs each.

Opening batsman Asif Sheikh was dismissed by Matthew Foster in the third over. He scored 11 runs off 9 balls before being caught behind by the wicketkeeper.

In the fifth over, opener Kushal Bhurtel also fell victim to Pembroke Fionn, caught at mid-wicket. He contributed 25 runs off 16 balls, including 2 fours and 1 six.

In the seventh over, Anil Shah was also dismissed, scoring 12 runs off 11 balls. He was caught by the wicketkeeper attempting a big shot.

Captain Rohit Paudel and Gulshan Jha formed a partnership for the fourth wicket, contributing 71 runs together.

Gulshan fell in the 14th over, having scored 29 runs off 32 balls. In the 16th over, captain Rohit also fell victim to a catch, scoring 33 runs off 24 balls.

Kushal Malla, playing aggressively, was caught out in the 18th over, scoring 34 runs off 13 balls, including 1 four and 4 sixes.

Vivek Yadav scored 7 runs off 8 balls, while Sandeep Jora contributed 21 runs off 9 balls before being caught out on the last ball of the innings.
